The Libyan Anti-Slavery Protest: The shocking revelations and my experience in London
On Saturday 9th December, I travelled to London to witness first-hand, the ways in which the UK are attempting to help abolish slavery around the World.
The peaceful protest started at Belgrave Square and marched to the Libyan Embassy. Along the way I met lots of different people, who all shared the same interest of bringing an end to slavery, not only in Africa - but to all parts of the World.

The organisation African Lives Matter which arranged the march in various capital cities around the globe, described the act of slavery as, 'a crime against humanity.'
Placards such as these were held up in the crowds to draw attention to the cause
It was extremely interesting to see a wide spectrum of people travel from different places, to come together to put a stand to slavery. The environment was peaceful, with chanting, guest speakers and interaction on the matter between people.
The issue of UK slavery was spoken about frequently also, bringing attention to the fact that slavery is happening in different forms and in all different areas of the World. It was encouraging to see people offer their own suggestions on the ways which could combat slavery, and the lengths people are willing to go to.

A full video of the protest with in depth content will be attached to the final piece of my project, I will post regular updates and links for when this will be available.
